Dance Experience: I have been trained in jazz, hip-hop, funk, modern, and lyrical dance. Also, I have experience in salsa, hula, hip-hop, social dance, ballet, tap, and belly dancing. As a child, I was a member of a well-known dance group within the Armenian community in Glendale titled KK Modern Dance Studio. I was a four-year member of the award winning Montebello High School Dance/Drill Team and a captain for three of those years. Currently, I am a seventh year member of the East Los Angeles College Let's Dance Company where I have attained the positions of President and Captain/Assistant for a couple of years. I have been an assistant and instructor for San Marino Dance Academy and am currently a dance instructor for E.L.A.C.'s Community Service Program, teaching students three years old and up in ballet, jazz, and hip-hop. Also, I am a jazz/lyrical instructor for Impact Dance Studio in Azusa.
Future goals/plans:I will be continuing in my studies for an M.A. degree in English Education at Cal State Long Beach for this year. Someday, I would like to pursue a degree in Dance Education as well. If time permits, I would like to obtain a P.H.D. in English Education. Furthermore, I look forward to future performances, academic enlightening, and dance tours wherever possible!
Hobbies: I love reading and writing, collecting stickers for my students, applying makeup and glitter, exploring different places, hanging out with friends who make me laugh, taking pictures, and working out.
Fav. Color: I absolutely love the color red! I also prefer the color black and any other color with lots of glitter!
Fav. Food: I enjoy shrimp dishes, fries, chicken salads, popcorn, chocolate, boba drinks, tea, and coffee.
Fav. Music: I listen to pop, hip-hop, r&b, and rock. I love the young Britney, indulge in P!nk's music, go crazy over Kelly Clarkson's songs, and can fall in love to any Brian McKnight melody.
Role models: My role models are my parents and grandparents whose ongoing struggle through life is an amazing example of dedication, perseverance, and most importantly, love. Also, my sister is the embodiment of unconditional love and support, who influences me to become a positive role model. Furthermore, I am completely inspired by teachers who genuinely care about their students and have directed me towards a path I can proudly sketch as my own.
