Dance Experience: I began my dance training at the age of six at San Marino Dance Academy. I have studied the art of ballet, hip-hop, hula, jazz, lyrical, modern, and tap. I was a member of both the Jr. and Sr. dance companies and have been a teacher's assistant for the younger dance classes for the past four years. I have participated in all of the dance recitals for San Marino Dance Academy in the past ten years. Besides dancing for the studio, I have trained under the direction of several choreographers, which include Annie Yee, Aukai Kane, Kimberly Brown, Kristen Chew, Liza Tedford, Majhalet Sibal, and Rick Crawford.
I was a member of the First Avenue Drill and Dance team for two years, where we competed in parades and indoor competitions throughout California. I was given the opportunity to choreograph several of our routines as a team leader, and this experience gave me the opportunity to teach choreography to the other members of the competition team.
In 2004 and 2005, I competed at the Los Angeles Dance Force competition in Anaheim, California and Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2006, I traveled with the Let's Dance Company to Europe, where we represented Southern California at the Young Tanzsommer Dance Festival. I am currently a third year member of the Let's Dance Company at East Los Angeles College, and this will also be my third year representing the company members on the Let's Dance Company Board. As a member of the LDC, I have performed at East Los Angeles College's annual dance consortiums and Visions of Dance concerts, as well as the first and second repertoire concerts.
Future goals/plans: I am currently a senior at Arcadia High school and am looking forward to graduating this spring. I plan to apply to colleges such as Cal State Long Beach, SDSU, UCI, UCLA, and UCSB. I would like to major in the field of Dance Education or Psychology. After graduating from college I would like to spend some time performing as well as teaching at local dance studios.
Hobbies: I enjoy dancing, singing, snowboarding, and hanging out with my friends.
Fav. Color: I like the colors blue, and green.
Fav. Food: I enjoy Continental, Italian, Japanese, and Mexican foods.
Fav. Music: I love all types of music.
Role models:My role models are my dance teachers and choreographers Kimberly Brown and Kristin Chew. Also, my mother is my role model as well.
